The Old Store is a close-up and personal space for visiting artists to share their work with the Valley. A place for emerging artists to tell their tales and established artists to share their stories. Shark Island Sessions are filmed and recorded: allowing these live and intimate shows for community to be shared to a wider audience on our Shark Island Sessions platform and providing a vital showcase for artists to share and archive their work in a meaningful and accessible way.

Heart & Soul begins with the simple belief that beneath our opinions, accomplishments and public identities, there is an inner life asking to be heard.
At a time of profound uncertainty and rapid change, Heart & Soul offers a place for spacious, thoughtful conversation with people who have deeply impacted our lives, as well as an opportunity to reflect more deeply on what it means to be human. A series of conversations — hosted by award-winning Australian journalist, author, and public speaker, David Leser — that delve deeply into some of the themes crying out for our attention, not the least being how to find empathy in an age of outrage.
These will be unhurried conversations. No real agenda. No fixed destination. Simply a shared willingness to get curious, to speak honestly and to listen deeply.
All filmed and recorded in front of a small, invited audience at The Old Store in Kangaroo Valley.

Griffin Studio 2026 Showing & Sharing
Griffin Studio is the esteemed artist development and education program — a year-long creative lab for early career playwrights. Each year Griffin Studio artists develop one or more projects with support from Griffin’s Artistic team, while undertaking workshops on aspects of playwriting and theatre making. Griffin Studio provides artists with the time and resources to create work that can shape the nation.
In the program’s fifteen-year-long history, Griffin Studio has engaged 40+ artists and has led to 19 professional productions including City of Gold,Orange Thrower and Whitefella Yella Tree, with alumni including Kate Mulvany, Michelle Lim Davidson, Nathan Harrison and Tessa Leong.
In 2026, for the first time, Shark Island Kangaroo Valley is proudly supporting The Griffin Studio Artists through our residency program and their Showing and Sharing.
